Taormina: Sunset Walking Tour & Aperitif on Rooftop Terrace

About This Experience
This is a two-hour sunset walk in Taormina’s old town run by Prestelli Sicily Tours. It is a small group limited to 6 people, with a live guide in English or Italian. You meet at Porta Messina in the historic centre.
The route follows Corso Umberto from Porta Messina to Porta Catania. The listing names Palazzo Corvaja, the Roman Odeon, the Naumachia and the churches of San Pancrazio, Santa Caterina and San Giuseppe. It also stops at the terrace of Piazza IX Aprile for the view of Mount Etna and the Ionian coast, and at Piazza Duomo for the cathedral and the centaur fountain. The guide covers the Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Arab, Norman and Spanish layers of the town. The walk ends on a restaurant terrace with an Aperol spritz or Sicilian wine and light appetizers.
The Ancient Theatre is not on the listed route and the listing says nothing about admission. The Odeon it names is a separate monument. If you want to see inside the Greek Theatre, visit earlier in the day with your own ticket. Admission is EUR 14 on the park’s ticket page (checked 3 November 2026), and winter closing times are not confirmed, so check them. Sunset in early November is around 16:50, which suggests a late-afternoon start, but the listing gives no start time.
The price is from about $157 per person (checked November 2026), with the earliest date on 4 November. The listing does not name the restaurant for the aperitif or say what happens in rain, so ask the operator if the weather looks doubtful.

What Travelers Say

We absolutely loved our walking tour with Jerry! It was so nice having a local show us around. He showed us places we had yet to see in Taormina, and hidden gems in the town. He gave us recommendations for restaurants, shopping, etc. We could tell he loved his city and was very passionate about his job. He educated us on the town’s history. Would absolutely recommend this tour-we’re so happy we did it!!

The tour was amazing, our guide Jerry was a little late but his knowledge was amazing and we met a number of his friends ( by accident ) on the tour which added to the enjoyment. Taormina is beautiful at any time but in the evening the views are spectacular. Jerry added to the enjoyment with some amazing information and to finish with a sunset cocktail made for a very memorable evening.

We had a very relaxed walk, Jerry was a well of knowledge, he showed us many places of interest in Taormina, we even get to know locals, special attraction like the work of art of Gino Castorina. The light aperitif in Excelsior Palace was an excellent way to end the stroll.
